Q: What 'ID' do I require to hire a vehicle?
A: You will need a recent Utility Bill (no older than 90 days), Bank Statement, Passport, or Council Tax Bill as well as your own Driving Licence. If you have the new photo type of Driving licence, you must bring in both parts of the licence
Q: What payments do you accept?
A: We accept payment by Debit Card or Credit Card only - all major credit cards excepted. Payment must be made in full before commencement of hire.
Q: Do I need the 'counter part' of my Driving Licence?
A: Yes, or there will be a charge for phoning the DVLA premium rate number.
Q: I have a Foreign Licence - can I hire?
A: Yes, Foreign Licence holders must be in the possession of a National, and where required a International or European Driving Licence. Restrictions may apply to some licence holders.
Q: Can I take your hire vehicles abroad?
A: Yes, subject to prior approval. Additional charges will apply and you will need extra documentation to take the vehicle outside of the UK. All vehicles will need a letter of authorisation to take the vehicle abroad.
Q: What is the minimum age to hire?
A: The mimimum age is 21 years for small cars and 25 years for anything else.
Q: What entitlement do I need to hire a Minibus?
A: You should have Category D1 on your Driving Licence.
Q: What entitlement do I need to drive a 7.5ton Lorry?
A: You should have Category C1 on your Driving Licence. A Operators Licence is required for business use. This is only required for business use and not a private rental.
Q: Can I have an additional driver?
A: Yes you can, but we will need to see them and their Driving Licence when the vehicle is collected - there will be a small charge for this service.
Q: Are your Vehicles Insured?
A: Yes, all our vehicles are insured by ourselves an it covers you the hirer to drive on the Public Highway. It is a Fully Comprehensive Insurance Policy with Excess at £250 for Small Cars upto Estate Cars, Small Vans upto LWB Transits, and 3.5ton Tippers, Dropsides and Flatbeds. £500 for MPVs, Mini Buses (both 9 and 17 Seats) Jumbo LWB, Jumbo Lutons and 7.5ton Tippers, Box and Curtainside.
Q: Do you have a Collision Damage Waver?
A: Yes, Collision Damage Waver reduces your excess contribution in the event of a Motor Accident. In most cases your excess will be reduced from £250 - for Small Cars upto Estate Cars, Small Vans upto LWB Transits, and 3.5ton Tippers, Dropsides and Flatbeds down to £50. £500 for MPVs, Mini Buses (both 9 and 17 Seats), Jumbo LWB, Jumbo Lutons and 7.5ton Tippers, Dropside Box and Curtainside down to £100. However this figure may change depending on driving endorsements, and previous accidents.
Q: How much does the Collision Damage Waver cost?
A: Prices for the Collision Damage Waver are £6 per day for Small Cars upto Estate Cars, Small Vans upto LWB Transits, and 3.5ton Tippers, Dropsides and Flatbeds (or £30 for the week) and £12 a day for MPVs, Mini Buses (both 9 and 17 Seats), Jumbo LWB, Jumbo Lutons and 7.5ton Tippers, Dropside Box and Curtainside (or £60 for the week).
Q: What happens if the hire vehicle I have rented breaks down?
A: In the unlikely event of breakdown the hirer is asked to contact a Roadside Breakdown Service (AA/RAC) - who will assist you. A number will be issued when you collect your vehicle. If not repairable at site of breakdown we will replace your vehicle (if your model is not available - your hire vehicle will be up graded free of charge). We will also deliver the vehicle free of charge.
Q: Do I have to supply the fuel?
A: Yes, all fuel used in the hire vehicles is the hirers responsibility. You must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel that it had in it at the start of the hire. Vehicles normally run from an empty to empty.
Q: Can I extend the hire?
A: Yes, hirers must inform Central Reservations (08000 51 52 53) or the local branch which they have hired their vehicle from if they wish to retain a vehicle beyond the agreed time or date of return. Failure to do so may result in the hirer driving without insurance.
