Dorset Vehicle Rentals is a local family run company, which started in Dorchester nearly 15 years ago by husband and wife team - Paul and Claire Proudley with just six vehicles.
Over the years the company has gradually expanded, introducing it own Service Centres (in Weymouth and Dorchester) and Bodyshop (in Dorchester) - servicing and maintaining the ever expanding fleet of hire vehicles to the highest possible standards.
Dorset Vehicle Rentals - Head Office, Central Reservations and Accounts Department is based in Dorchester, with five further Branches spread across Dorset, and Somerset. These Branches are in Weymouth, Bridport, Gillingham, Wincanton and Yeovil.
In October 2008, Dorset Vehicle Rentals introduced it first Main Agent - Anchor Hill Service Station, at Holton, near Wincanton, in Somerset - they service the Castle Cary, Wincanton, and surrounding area.
In March 2009, Dorset Vehicle Rentals introduce the new Flexi Rental Pages to the Website - which is proving to be very popular with businesses not wishing to committe themselves to Contract Hire Agreements in this unsteady economic climate. In January 2010 Head Office moved from its existing site to a purpose built building (next door!) - the local press published a special feature in July 2010.

Dorset Vehicle Rentals has a large modern upto date fleet of vehicles, ranging from Small, Medium,(including automatics), Large and Estate Cars to MPVs (seating seven). 4x4 Crewcab Pickups, Small Vans, a range of Transits (SWB, LWB, Jumbo LWB), 4m Mercedes Sprinters, Ford Transit Jumbo Lutons (with and without tail lifts), 3.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne Tippers, Flatbeds and Dropsides, 7.5 tonne Box and Curtainside Trucks (with tail lifts), 18 tonne Trucks - both Box and Curtainside (with tail lifts). Finally, not forgetting our large fleet of Minibuses seating 9 to 17.
As a large independent rental company, we are members of the United Rental network. This enables us to provide the product and service at the same level as a multi national rental companies, without losing the personal rapour of a local rental company.
